Relentlessly along with Jodeyne we did years and years of training perfecting our minds and bodies to perform our abilities on and off the ice, and working to support our endeavors, traveling the world to absorb its knowledge, see its history, studying how to do things better and more efficient. We worked jobs we did not like but we did what we had to do to find our path in life and to gain momentum in the direction we needed and wanted to go. No matter if the wind blew our way we learned to adjust our sails to navigate ourselves to success through all the obstacles and failures we encountered over the past 25 years.
We had so many people say no that is not possible, no I am not interested, no because that is not the way it is done, and I truly believe no because go ego, but I thank all the people who pushed us around, from family, and friends, to coaches, to judges, to bosses, to school mates and so forth. We kept fighting adversity and the moment everything changed for me, (for us) was the moment when I stopped talking and telling everyone around me what I was up to and just shut my mouth and worked…day in and day out. We are still working hard building our clientele, and here we are today further along our journey to help people and business in our own way.
Sometimes, you just got to shut your mouth and get to work on your dream, your crazy ideas become really crazy ideas for others because they do not see your light and passion about them. That magic that is firing in your heart and soul it is your infinite potential to succeed. That special little spark that you are most passionate about. It ignites so many other feelings inside that become your ammunition, your ambition, and this is where and when we are ready to release what we have done for so many. It is wonderful because you have faced the upward battle to success. It sometimes feels like you are summiting your own personal Mount Everest.
There was a great keynote speaker that I listened to once and he said many powerful things that I interpreted and wrote down. Some of his words were so powerful that they resonate in my mind till today. We made SeaJo because we feel that the value of the following words have so much merit and strength that I was so done listening to everyone else being so negative in their own ways.
Here is what I took from what he had to say,
“Everything we do, we believe in challenging the status quo, we believe in thinking differently. The way we challenge the status quo is making our products and services beautifully designed, easy to understand, and easy to use. Being super user friendly is our passion. People want to support us because we believe in people, we believe in clean and efficient process, and we believe that if constantly evolve our systems and embrace technology and education in our business structures we will become better, we will grow, and we will be sustainable. We believe in making systems pure on fundamentals and understanding the needs and the goals of the outcome will be positive for our clients and consumers.
We build and make things totally different? We listen to the needs of the customer. Well listen to the consumers needs. We use clear communication and create a team of team work and checks to minimize the risk of failure. People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it! This explains why every single person we conduct business with is engaged, focused, and is perfectly comfortable believing our quest to do better than yesterday and the day before that. It’s all about quality and having higher standards than the norm while being fiscally fair and positive.”
Not sharing my vision with the world or needing anyone’s feedback or permission led me to what I consider to be meaningful work. When we got that first call from a client saying we need you, what do i have to do to get you we knew we did something right. Our belief in being fair, being focused on health and safety and also the full production value really goes a long way because of our consistency. We engage with people who want to work as a team. We engage with businesses that have a higher standard and a desire to improve. We engage with business in a way that they can trust that we have the best ability we can to create a team to perform task over and over with a high degree of success. We also are smart enough not to hang onto business that can be taxing on our business. If a business hires us to help remodel remold their business structure and upgrade its infrastructure, its systems, and policies, and procedures, they can count on it to be done at its best ability.
It is all in the hard work you set up first at the base of your business ethics and procedures that will help you succeed. Having an adaptable business plan and you be willing to sacrifice your wants and desires for your needs first is the first steps to success. That internal desire to push harder than you think you can, do it. Do it now, over and over again. We want the people who believe in our standards, our ideals, and the people who care about our message through our sport, the stage, and art form led me towards the greatest sense of joy and fulfillment ever till Jodeyne and I had Signey! Hearing one person cry when they are born, or 95,000 people clap for you on stage at the World, and Paralympics is an amazing experience and resonates in the same place in my heart.
The thing I dream the most about these days is paving the way to success for the children whom are our future. This past few years SeaJo put into practice growing kids abilities on the ice in our sport and to prepare them for the stage. I truly loved this experience because it creates that spark inside for competition and shows which I have felt for most of my life. When they say I want that feeling too and that smile and look comes from no where on their face and their eyes focus in and the passion is ignited, I want that for as many people we can reach out too. I want that applause to be off of me and refocused on the people that we teach. Production to me is focusing on our future. Focusing on the untapped abilities of a human being and allowing them to grow in a safe and focused environment. Stars are to be born over and over again and we want to be a part of that because it is the right thing to.
I have had the pleasure to work with one particular young lady that actually lit up the stage night after night for us for thousands of people each day in Niagara Falls last year. It was for Spirit Productions Show “Christmas on Ice”. It was the moment I knew while standing back stage hearing the people cheer for her that we in our heart were doing the right thing.
If you could have only seen the looks on the people’s faces when she took to the stage and entered it. That was the moment I knew a star was born. All on her own with a special lady singing named Kassie, the two ladies gave their hearts to the world to see. Seeing that smile when Allie would skate off that ice was awesome, but more so knowing that overtime that 11-year-old little girl took to the stage it ignited her passion to do it again. No one will ever know how special that moment was when she said to me, “Sean this is better that I could have imagined.” Great things happen, and luck has something to do with it when the stars aligned when we met her and her mom Mary at a skating rink. Serendipitous moments rock and I love it when the plan comes together!
Listen to my words for all the people out there trying to make a positive impact in something that they are passionate about in their field. DREAM IT! Make a plan, follow a path to figuring out how you can do it, and my advice is simple don’t share your vision and dreams, or talk about your grand plan with people you already know. Work on it, build it, and share it with people who will care about it, and luckily for me I have found thousands of people like you who care about our vision and that means the world to me!
Keep your mouth shut, keep your ideas and vision close to your heart, believe and dedicate yourself to your craft and work tirelessly to create your masterpiece. Then Best of all Share it with the world!
Happy New Year and talk again soon,
