The Champions Mindset is what we have been traveling the world in search for the answer. From training and producing, performing, coaching, and teaching we get to see how the different athletes from around the world react to stimulus and pull things off. We believe that people from around the globe react very differently and they also trying differently. Some kids know they will be praised for a good job, meanwhile no matter how good someone performs in business or sport they feel like they have not done enough. They feel not worthy. They shy aways from their reality.
I really believe the philosophies of the east and west are quite different and this is a huge factor in how we react and perform under pressure.
We travel with our little girl and showing her how special it is to live in this world if we stay focused and on target with our needs and wants and how to differentiate the difference. Needs always over wants first. This is the key.
Some people never grew up with getting what they want. Some people never had anything materially, and this is why what ever they grew up with they appreciated their worldly possessions. They knew how hard it was to obtain them, and how precious it was to hold it in their hands from someone working so hard to get it. Most things come from necessity and this definitely was the key for their success and their drive to get more of their needs fulfilled.
We are trying to teach our little girl how to get into the champions mindset now before she gets older, and helping her understand getting into the winners circle is a mission onto itself is not easy. I wish everyone would try to take the time to guide their kids in a light like this. The other day I was taken back as I was approached on the topic of, “How did you do it with such conviction?” I asked the athlete/ coach what do you mean. The athlete asked me in a different way, “how did you become so successful in skating and performing especially without an agent?” First is we worked our asses off and surrounded ourselves with like-minded people.
People it is not easy and we all want what we don’t have, It is human nature. I believe I can speak for both Jodeyne and I here because we have worked so closely for 25 years together. When we were younger and still till this day we always wanted to get that National Title, Olympic and World Championship Gold Medal or what ever. We wanted to the best we could be at all times and even today we feel the same way. Being our very best via helping others is our goal. We knew we needed to focus on things and hunker down by making definitive plans. You have got to have focus. The plan was what was possible and what we needed to do to get ahead of the curve, what was impossible was on the list too because it challenged us to figuring out what we needed to do to achieve what we thought would be the impossible. It sure seemed that we could push our limits further. We need to do what we need first before we get what we want. It is patience and persistence that is key to our success.
My friend Ryan wrote some very compelling words the other day that inspired me to share with you here and it lead me to write you that the great mindset comes from understanding, inner calm, and peace of mind. You may want to approach life, sport, the fine arts, business with this kind of mindset placed in your head, especially if you are a young person in training to be the best you can be in anything you set your mind too like sports, school, the fine arts etc…; or an adult that is focusing to change the world in a positive way through business or in some other way. Life is not easy but it is important that we have fun living it.
As a coach and an entrepreneur we work with people every day who want to achieve something great in their lives. They want to excel…they want to win. Yet, what is it that separates those who “want” from those who “do?” Through our life experiences and teaching well over a thousand people we came to this conclusion: The vast majority believe if they simply show up enough times “it will just happen”…they will eventually make their way to the top and achieve what they want.
And this is exactly why the “majority” don’t win. So what do the select few do differently? Here is the big secret:
THEY SIMPLY WANT IT MORE AND ARE WILLING TO SACRIFICE MORE TO GET IT. THEY KNOW THAT ULTIMATELY THEIR SUCCESS 100% DEPENDS ON THEM, NOT THEIR CIRCUMSTANCES, WHO THEIR COACH IS, HOW MUCH MONEY THEY HAVE TO INVEST, ETC… THEY TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND THEY ARE THE ONES WHO ALWAYS GO THE EXTRA MILE.
Find your passion and believe in your goals. be adaptable and never lose your focus on what you are trying to achieve. Be the reason there is positive change in the world. Be the reason why you help people achieve when they do not believe in their true potential.
Have a Great Day Everyone and Live with Passion.
